What is Surah Ar-Rahman about?

Ar-Rahman opens with a single name of Allah, then lists His favours: He taught the Quran, created man, taught him speech, set the sun and moon on their courses, raised the sky and set the balance. After each group of favours comes the refrain, addressed to both humans and jinn.

At its centre are two verses about everything ending: “Everyone that is thereon will pass away; there remaineth but the Countenance of thy Lord of Might and Glory” (55:26–27). It ends with descriptions of the gardens prepared for those who fear standing before their Lord.
